Mission

To work with Marion County’s ethnic population through events, material development, professional support, and program outreach. The Ethnic Tobacco Control Network (ETCN) is a standing committee of Smoke Free Indy.

Goals and Special Events

• Supporting the youth “VOICE” movement as adult allies in the battle against “Big Tobacco” target marketing practices.
• Providing cessation services to individuals and businesses to help individuals quit smoking (Youth and Adult)
• Educating the ethnic population on the negative effects of secondhand smoke
• Presentations to businesses, community centers, organizations and clubs
• Assisting with special events (Minority Male Blitz) that target hard to reach populations
• Educating mothers and babies on the devastating effects of tobacco
• Advocating for tobacco control policy and funding
• Empowering churches to guide their congregations and community to become healthier and more powerful
